Pre-Kindergarten

Pre-Kindergarten is for 4 & 5 year old children, the year before entering Kindergarten
The nationally recognized NAEYC Accredited program is designed as a Kindergarten Readiness Program. Children will develop knowledge and self-help skills through large group, small group and individual activities. All learning activities include cognitive thinking opportunities, social skills and relevant education opportunities to prepare for the rigorous St. Pascal Baylon Catholic School Kindergarten Program. The Pre-K program is for children who are four years old by September 1.

Favorite thing about Saint Pascals:
Family is very important to me. Because of the small classes, my favorite thing about St. Pascal’s is the family atmosphere with students and their families as well as faculty and staff.

Hobbies outside of school:
I enjoy traveling, especially when riding on the back of the motorcycle with my husband. Every summer, we take a 2 week motorcycle trip with my brothers to various parts of the US. I enjoy working in my yard too! It gives me great satisfaction to see my flowerbeds flourishing.

Interesting fact about you:
I have two children and five grandchildren. Our first house was two blocks from St. Pascal’s and our children went to St. Pascal’s school! My son, Joe, was in Mrs. Urness’ first Kindergarten class! I helped to plan and raise money for the first playground at St. Pascal’s!

Interesting fact about you:
I’m originally from Chicago. I’ve played the flute since 4th grade. I’ve worked with children as young as 6 week to 12 years of age. For over 20 years, I was mainly a Toddler teacher. I love working with children; they keep me young! I started here at St. Pascal’s first as a parishioner, then as a parent of 2 children, and now as a staff member of the school.
